Women's Pre-Season Information

 Register your interest to play with Waverley this season.

WOBFC is looking to strengthen our Women’s Premier League squad and build on our All Age Womens squads for the 2021 Season. We aim to submit the following teams to ESFA for the 2021 season to give women of all experience and ambition an opportunity to play soccer:

Women's Premier League (WPL)

All Age Womens 2's (AAW2)

All Age Womens 3's (AAW3)

Over 30s (O30) - skill level of 4's and 5s.

We are currently looking for new players across all these teams and would like to invite interested female players to attend our 2021 trials.

Open Trials for all teams @Waverley Synthetic

Wednesday 27th January - 6:30-8pm

Sunday 31st January - 3-5pm

Sunday 7th February - 3-5pm

 

WPL Only Trials @Waverley Synthetic

Friday 5th February - 6:30-8pm

Sunday 7th February - 3-5pm

Pre-season training - women (all grades)

 

Pre-season training starts Wednesday 3rd February at Waverley Synthetic 6:30-8pm

In all our Women’s teams, we offer training with qualified coaches, great facilities and a friendly atmosphere. We are able to cater for players with a mix of skill levels and we are a friendly, social group who are passionate about football.

Players are required to:

  • Bring a drink bottle, boots and shin pads (if you are new to the game please wear runners and long socks and ideally shin pads).
  • Arrive 15-20  minutes before trials start (to be dressed and ready for the start time).

Pre-season games

 

We will announce pre-season games on the All Age Women Facebook group and TeamApp. Pre-season games will start on Sundays from mid February.

 

Where we play

 

Waverley Synthetic

By Car: The synthetic turf is on Park Parade which runs between Bondi Road and Birrell Street. Parking is available on Birrell Street

By Bus: From Bondi Junction take the 380/381 to Bondi Road and alight just by Waverley Council Chambers OR take the 360/361 to Birrell Street by Waverley Bowling Club.

Moore Park (Grass)

By Car: The pitch is in between Anzac Parade and South Dowling, so either park on South Dowling, Surry Hills or Sydney Boys High School

By Lightrail: Take the Lightrail to Moore Park and use the bridge to cross over Anzac Parade to the pitches

Chifley Sports Reserve, Chifley

By Car: The reserve is located between Maroubra and Little Bay. Parking is available on Hastings Avenue. From Bunnerong Road, turn left onto Little Bay Road and left onto Hastings Avenue. From Anzac Parade, turn right onto Forrest Road, left Macquarie Street and left onto Hastings Avenue.

By Bus: The 391/392/X92 from the city stop directly opposite the park. The 400/353 from Bondi Junction go to Anzac Parade where a connecting bus service can be met.

Queens Park (Upper)

By Car: Training is in front of the cricket pavilion (259-261 Darley Road). Parking is available on both sides of Darley Road.

By Bus: From Bondi Junction, take a bus to St Catherine’s (314, 316, 317, 348, 353, 400, 410, 440). Walk down Macpherson Street to Queens Park. Alternatively, take the 313 bus to the Carrington Road/Macpherson Street intersection.

Centennial Parklands

There are numerous fields used by the club at Centennial Park, please use this map to locate the relevant pitch. Parking is available throughout the park.

Mission Fields - In the middle of Centennial Park, off Parkes Drive. Take the path behind the kiosk, which goes between the duck ponds.

McKay Fields - Off Grand drive, between Randwick gates and Lang Road corner. From Centennial Park cycles, walk diagonally across rugby field and through narrow gap in hedge. From Lang Road corner, take the footpath (right side) that runs alongside the pond and behind the toilet block and oval. McKay Fields can also be accessed from Mission Fields. Walk across field and through gap in hedge on far right.

Brazilian Field - In the middle of Centennial Park, off Dickens Drive.

Moore Park Synthetic (Parklands Sports Centre Lang Road) - Limited paid parking is available behind the tennis courts, additional parking (free) is on Robertson Road or on Grand Drive, Centennial Park (Lang Road corner). Pitch is 100m walk.

Pre-Season Schedule

 
To help each of you prepare for what promises to be one of Waverley’s best seasons yet, below are the details you’ll need for pre-season training and trials. Remember that your attendance and the work you put in during the pre-season months lays the foundation for strong regular-season performance. These sessions will be your opportunity to show everyone what you’ve got! If you haven't already registered your interest in playing for WOBFC in the 2021 season please do so here.

 February 

  • Preliminary squad selections will be made from a series of trials (see above)
  • Structured training and fitness sessions commence on Wednesdays from the 10th February at Waverley Synthetic 6:30-8pm

 March

  • Final squad selections will be made through more trial matches against other clubs on Sundays. Stay tuned for details.
  • Training sessions continue on Wednesday evenings and Sundays where there is no game
April
  • Regular season fixtures commence early April.
  • Regular season training will continue on Wednesday evenings
